Hopefully you haven’t found the first two days of the Stress Less November challenge at all challenging. I am proud of you still being here determined to be less stressed. You are awesome!
Day 3 is all about the level of alcohol we consume, and it’s a good thing that we bring it up today and especially this month because hopefully with the upcoming festive celebrations you will be more aware of what you are drinking.
I assume that non of you switched on people would even think of driving a vehicle after drinking, so I won’t go into that all I will say is Drink Safe, Think Safe, Drive Safe!
Alcohol is sometimes the one thing that we go to for comfort after a stress day at work, or a weekend spent with the in-laws. However it’s not so much what you drink but how much you drink. Do you think you have a healthy hold on your alcohol? Take control of your life and monitor your alcohol intake. If you don’t think have a healthy intake and wonder what you can do to ensure that you cut down, I want to reassure you that there is absolutely NO shame what so ever in seeking professional help. Think of it this way, if you have dental issues you seek the professional help and advice of a dentist. If you need your hair styling, you seek the professional help and advice of a hairdresser. The same thing is true for alcohol consumption. It is Far Far better to seek help and admit that you didn’t realise it had got out of control than to pretend it doesn’t exist and later live with the consequences of poor health amongst a whole list of related issues.
Alcohol doesn’t solve your stress, it doesn’t make it go away, it creates an illusion that it does, but it can also impact upon your health. I have no problem being totally tee-total and that’s my preference, if and how often you drink alcohol is your personal choice.
If you stopped drinking for one month, you would feel healthier, less stresses, less tired, more alert, and drinking small amounts rather than large amounts would offer benefits also.
Try and limit your alcohol and switch to more water and less sugary drinks. Eat mood enhancing foods, switch your schedule up to avoid the times of day you are more likely to drink, and save all the money you don’t spend on alcohol and then at the end of the month treat yourself to a massage, new hair do, or that fab Christmas outfit!
I’d love to read your comments on this Stress Less November tip 🙂
